Job Modification

The new pro-active and collaborative approach to employee healthcare places an emphasis on employers to be flexible in the rehabilitation of injured workers into the workplace. It is no longer acceptable to companies that they must lose a valued worker because he or she is unable to perform one portion of their work procedures or because the company is afraid that the worker will suffer a re-injury.

Often this will mean the modification of some elements of the way in which the task was previously completed. In some cases it may mean a re-design of the actual job itself, or of the workplace setting, in order to take into account the capabilities of the previously injured worker and reduce the risk of further injuries.

Based on the knowledge gained from functional job evaluations and functional capacity evaluations the ICOR team is in an ideal position to advise clients on the necessary re-design or modifications required to achieve these aims.
